Medius is a new Franco-Ontarian band taking the Classic Rock sound of the 70s and 80s and mixing it up with today's modern music. Formed in 2007, Medius began writing music for their first release. The cd was completed and released in November of 2008. Their debut cd Loin De Tout, is recognized by their peers and was nominated for 2 Gold Trillium awards. They were nominated for "best new group" and also "best producer" with Roy “Nip” Nichol. This is Medius, three guys making music they love, writing their own songs, and keeping the sound of great Classic Rock alive.
Medius is:
Mike Tessier is a multi-talented musician. On stage, Mike sings harmony and is the bass guitarist in the band, but in the studio, he can jump from drums to the electric guitar . Through the years, Mike has been a member of several bands in his hometown of Cornwall. Mike is well known for his keen ear and his perfectionism in the music business, which makes him a great asset when the band sits down to write songs.
Pete Nichol is the guitarist of Medius. He also plays keyboards and has a great voice for background vocals. He gives the band a unique and solid sound. We could say that Peter is Cornwall's best kept secret because he only played with a few live bands and we consider ourselves lucky to have found him. Pete writes a lot of music for the band. He also builds his own guitars which he plays on stage along with a few INDIE guitars.
Benoit Brisson is the lead singer in the band Medius. He masters several instruments including drums, keyboards and guitar, which he plays on stage and in the studio. Ben has many years of musical and studio experience. He writes songs in both French and English since he's been a teenager. A few of his songs have been heard on the radio.
